Hi! My name is zach, and I believe that food has a way of telling stories.
Some of my favorite memories are tied to desserts—the recipes passed around the family table, birthdays that seemed to last forever, and the simple joy of sharing something homemade with the people I love. Those moments shaped not only my love for baking, but also my belief that the best desserts are the ones that bring people together.
That passion eventually led me to compete with my twin brother on Food Network’s Family Recipe Showdown, where I had the opportunity to celebrate the recipes and traditions that inspired me in the first place. The experience reinforced something I’d always believed: behind every great dessert is a story worth sharing.
Outside the kitchen, I’ve always been drawn to nostalgia. Vintage diners, handwritten recipe cards, old neighborhood bakeries, and the traditions that get passed from one generation to the next continue to inspire everything we create at Juniper House. I love taking those familiar flavors and giving them a fresh perspective while preserving the comfort and joy that made people fall in love with them in the first place.
More than anything, I love serving others. There’s something incredibly meaningful about creating a dessert that becomes part of someone’s birthday, anniversary, wedding, graduation, or just a well-deserved treat after a long week. Knowing that something we’ve baked becomes part of someone else’s memory is what makes this work so rewarding.
